Aldwick Revival WI

Welcome to Aldwick Revival WI's website.

Inspiring women - then and now

The WI is a unique organisation shaped by its members. In 1915, we set out to give women a voice and to be a force for good in the community.  Since then, our members and our ambitions alike have grown tremendously.  Today, we are the largest women’s organisation in the UK and we pride ourselves on being a trusted place for all women of all generations, to share experiences and learn from each other. A WI membership offers the opportunity to meet women in your local area in-person and virtually, to make friends and make a difference in your community. We campaign nationally on a wide range of issues and provide life-long learning and self-development opportunities for women in England and Wales.

Aldwick Revival WI is proud to be a part of this organisation.

About the Women's Institute

The Women's Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War.

Since then the organisation's aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women's organisation in the UK. The WI celebrated its centenary in 2015 and currently has almost 220,000 members in approximately 6,300 WIs.

Why join ARWI?

Aldwick Revival WI is an inclusive, friendly and supportive local organisation open to all women. We welcome and celebrate a cross-section of ladies of all ages, and offer a space where they can be themselves and offer views, surrounded by other equal minded women. As well as the usual 11 monthly meetings, we provide a variety of sub-groups, outings, a Summer party and Christmas celebration. We enter into the spirit and ethos of the National Federation of WIs and West Sussex Federation by raising funds for local charities and following selected campaigns. We are all volunteers and share responsibility via ‘Hubs’ for the smooth running of the organisation
